Exeter Dog Training Club awarded Championship Obedience status

The Kennel Club is delighted to announce that Exeter Dog Training Club has been awarded Championship Obedience status as of 2012.

The Committee was very impressed with all the applications for Championship Obedience status that were received as a result of South London Dog Training Society relinquishing its status, and wish Exeter Dog Training Club, who are undoubtedly excited about their achievement, every success going forward with this new status.

In the light of recent changes in certain clubs’ Championship Obedience status, the Kennel Club would like to advise Obedience competitors that Grimsby and Cleethorpes Dog Training Society will no longer be holding Championship Shows with effect from 2012. Furthermore, Cwmbran and District Dog Training Society has relinquished its Championship status with effect from 2013.

Therefore, any society interested in applying for future Championship Obedience status should submit to the Kennel Club, a presentation for consideration. Please note that it will be necessary to select a date that does not coincide with another Championship Obedience Show.

Applications should include details of the society’s committee structure and Show management team, as well as providing information on the proposed show venue, stating the facilities available for judges, competitors, dogs and spectators.

Presentations should be submitted to Joanna Nosalik, Working Dog Activities Team, The Kennel Club, 1-5 Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London, W1J 8AB or joanna.nosalik@thekennelclub.org.uk and received by 28 October 2011.
