The 2012 Dog Photographer of the Year competition is now offcially open!

Entry Categories

• Dogs at Work
• Dogs at Play
• Dog Portrait
• Man’s Best Friend
• Puppies (new category!)
• I Love Dogs Because… (for entrants aged 16 years and under)

Terms and Conditions
A maximum of five images (for adults) and six images (for 16s and under) can be submitted with only one image per category. This year the entry is FREE for everyone.  However we encourage all entrants to donate to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (Registered Charity Number 327802). The Charitable Trust makes a difference for dogs by funding a wide variety of work ranging from support research into canine diseases to welfare initiatives and the promotion of support dogs, all of which gives dogs’ healthier and happier lives.

How to enter the Competition

1. READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS  here before entering

2. ENTER HERE by completing the Dog Photographer of the Year 2012 online entry form

3. EMAIL PHOTOS to DPOTYentry@thekennelclub.org.uk

4. DONATE to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust here (optional)

Competition Closing Date
Dog Photographer of the Year 2012 officially closes at midnight on 31 August 2012

Prizes
Dog Photographer of the Year 2012 prizes for winners and runner ups will be announced soon.

Winning images from Dog Photographer of the Year 2012 will be displayed at Discover Dogs 2012 and Crufts 2013.  A prize ceremony will take place in London at Discover Dogs, Earl’s Court 1 in November 2012.

The overall winning photo will be displayed on the cover of the Kennel Club’s flagship publication, The Kennel Gazette.

Judges
Guest judges will be announced later this year.

Marc Henrie's photo taking tips
Professional dog photographer Marc Henrie has written some photo taking tips including tips for indoor and outdoor shots.
