In addition, a company in the USA, OptiGen, have also developed two new DNA tests that are attracting increased interest from UK dog breeders.
Optigen have a relationship with a Dutch company (www.vhlgenetics.com) who will collect European samples and ship them directly to OptiGen.
The two tests that are causing most UK interest are:
Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) in:

Late onset Progressive retinal atrophy (so-called prcd-1) in:

DNA Profiling and parentage analysis:
The Kennel Club offers a DNA Profiling Service for individual dogs, as well as a parentage verification service where parentage of a litter might be in doubt.
