Dogs Take Centre Stage in the Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show
The Ladies Kennel Association will be holding its annual prestigious Championship Dog Show for all dog breeds at the NEC, Birmingham on 12th and 13th December, 2008. Top dogs from the local area will go head to head against other leading dogs from the length and breadth of the country and beyond, to win a Champion title.
This year the show has attracted a bumper entry of 11,095 dogs from 130 breeds, all competing for the highly coveted ‘Best in Show’ award. The successful winners will qualify to compete at the greatest and largest dog show in the world, Crufts, also held annually at the NEC, Birmingham.
The event will see the Terrier, Hound and Gundog groups judged on the first day, with Toys, Utility, Pastoral and Working groups on the second day.
There will be plenty to entertain the general public, from watching the judges make their difficult decisions, to seeing the happy and healthy dogs with their owners first hand. Visitors are warmly welcomed, and will enjoy browsing the 130 trade stands at the show which will sell a variety of gifts for dogs and people alike, providing the perfect opportunity to purchase some gifts for Christmas.
The Kennel Club Roadshow stand will be on hand for people to talk to a friendly Kennel Club face, and to find out more about all the Kennel Club can offer. A Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Ring will also be set up to offer competitors the opportunity to take part and achieve their Bronze Award Certificate.
