Kennel Club Building construction report - August
Unfortunately we are unable to bring you any new photos from the Stoneleigh Park site this month, but don’t think for a minute that the development of the Kennel Club Building is slowing down. Quite the opposite in fact – the venue is so far forward in its progress that it was recently used by the Royal Agricultural Society of England as part of the prestigious annual Royal Show at the site. At the time of writing the building is still full of hay, laid down for the show, but rest assured that work will be well under way again by the time you read this.
Dog lovers will finally be getting the chance to look around the venue and see the progress for themselves later this month, when the first Open Days are held to coincide with the City of Birmingham Championship Show. If you are entered to compete at the show then you will hopefully have received a special invite with your exhibitor passes in the post by now.
Don’t worry if you’re not actually showing at Birmingham, as visitors to the show are very welcome to come along too. The Open Days will start at 9.30am on each of the three days of the show and tours around the Kennel Club Building will take place often throughout the day. There will also be displays highlighting the Kennel Club’s Safe and Sound initiative and Good Citizen Dog Scheme among a range of activities taking place to showcase the new venue.
Visitor entry to both the City of Birmingham Show and the Open Days is free and there is no need to book in advance – just come along and have a look around. Who knows – you might be competing, training or hosting a show there in the not too distant future.
