Happy Birthday to the Kennel Club Building!

The weekend of the City of Birmingham Championship Show (4^th-6^th September 2009) marked the one year anniversary of the opening of the Kennel Club Building at Stoneleigh Park. There could be no better way of celebrating this than supporting the association’s wonderful idea to enable smaller breed clubs to stage their Open shows at the Building in conjunction with such a prestigious Championship Show.  Each of the breed clubs made a particular effort to support the aims of the Kennel Club Educational Trust (KCET) by including a great deal of colourful and carefully compiled educational material about the history and care and welfare of their breed.  It was great to see all the clubs working so well together and sharing the space and the resources to stage really top notch and enjoyable events. 

The KCET would love to see more small clubs banding together to hire the halls and seminar rooms to share the excellent facilities on offer.  In fact, so many enquiries have been received; KCET staff member Carrie Acors has now started a ‘dating service’ to match up smaller clubs with each other to do just that.  Give her a call on 0844 463 3980 ext 290 if you are interested in booking the venue.
