Boris and Brian Barking Up the Right Tree

“If dogs had votes I would win the election!” So says Lib Dem Mayoral candidate and dog lover, Brian Paddick.

In the run up to the election, the Kennel Club, governing body of dogs in the UK has surveyed the candidates’ opinions on dogs to find out who would appeal most to dog owners and their canine companions.

Brian has confirmed that he used to own a Dobermann, whilst Boris has publically stated that he prefers dogs to cats! The Conservative candidate recently visited an animal shelter showing his compassion for dogs. He grew up around dogs and is a genuine dog lover.

Ken, former Vice President of the Zoological Society, is a newt lover and favours conservation. His office claims he therefore must like all animals. The jury is still out.

Sian, the Green candidate, hasn't got back to us about whether she is a dog lover even though dog walkers are reducing their carbon footprint on a daily basis by going out and walking with their dogs rather than driving.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club spokesperson, said: “It's a close run thing between Brian and Boris when it comes to the canine vote - they are both putting their best paws forward!”
