Rules Clarified - Eligibility for Best Puppy

In May 2007's  Kennel Gazette a response was given to an enquiry asking for clarification on eligibility for best puppy.  The response given was a general explanation of eligibility for this award and presupposed that a dog is actually eligible for the class(es) entered.

As for the specific case quoted in the Gazette, in the exceptional circumstance of a puppy turning 12 months of age on the first day of a show, this puppy would be eligible to compete in Yearling and providing it has not been beaten by any other puppy, it is usual to expect this dog to challenge for best puppy.
