YKC Crufts
Crufts offers visitors much more than just seeing dogs in competition. The Young Kennel Club has its very own stand and ring that hosts a variety of competitions and displays over the four days. If you are new to the club, this is the perfect opportunity to come along to the YKC area and find out first hand from members about the wonderful activities you can become involved with and, if you are an old hand at Crufts and all things YKC, the show is the ideal occasion to catch up with old friends.
Crufts 2009 dates are 5th – 8th March 2009 at the NEC, Birmingham
Day 1
Thursday 5th March 2009 – Terrier and Hound
Day 2
Friday 6th March 2009 - Toy and Utility
Day 3
Saturday 7th March 2009 – Gundog
Day 4
Sunday 8th March 2009 – Working and Pastoral
How do I gain entry to Crufts?
All fully paid up members of the YKC will be sent a FREE season ticket in February 2009 that will admit you to the show over all four days.
How do I qualify for a competition at Crufts?
In order to compete at Crufts you will need to qualify in one of the YKC competitions held throughout the calendar year.
When will I receive an invitation to Crufts?
The office will send out invitations to members who have qualified at the end of November 2008. Some disciplines still have qualifiers after this date (e.g. handling), if this is the case the YKC will send out invitations as soon as we receive the results in the office.
Can I take part in Crufts if I have not qualified?
Unfortunately due to the limited time available the competitions held in the YKC ring are for members who have qualified in a competition throughout the year.
