Crufts 2011 Selection of Gold GCDS Display Team - Yorkshire
Attention All Scheme Enthusiasts
Crufts - NEC Birmingham - Friday 11th and Sunday 13th March 2011
At Crufts 2011, the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme will be conducting a display in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme Ring on Friday11th and Sunday 13th March 2011. The display team will require the assistance of 9 handlers and dogs plus four assistants (without dogs).
Those wishing to participate in the team will be required to attend a selection meeting on Sunday 30th January 2011 at Middleton Park Equestrian Centre, Middleton Grove, Leeds, LS11 5TZ from 10.00pm-2.00pm.
If selected you will be required to attend another four practice sessions on Sunday 6th February, Sunday 13th February, Sunday 27th February and Sunday 6th March 2011.
This display will feature all aspects of the Gold Award and will require dogs that have passed their Gold Award but are also able to work reliably in busy, stressful environments around lots of other dogs. Within the display there are likely to be exercises which include multiple dogs being active and exercises where the dogs will be worked off lead. Dogs must also be content to walk closely with other dogs.
As this is a Kennel Club Licensed event, all dogs participating in the displays must be over 12 calendar months of age. Furthermore, all dogs attending must possess a sound temperament with people and other dogs.
Anyone participating in the display will be allocated one free entrance pass for themselves and their dog and an additional pass to bring a visitor for the two specified days. A car park ticket for each of the specified days will also be provided.
