Team GB Members Announced for First Heelwork to Music World Championships
The Kennel Club has announced the members of Team GB who have been selected to represent their country at the inaugural FCI Heelwork to Music and Freestyle World Championships being held from 25th – 27th June 2010 at Herning, Denmark, in conjunction with the World Dog Show.
The teams will comprise:
Freestyle
Michelle Dodson with Kamarda Dr Foster FS A Ex, HTM I Ex (Border Collie)
Penny Draper with Delark Gavotte FS I (Belgian Shepherd Dog - Tervueren)
Kath Hardman with Stillmoor Lady in Red HTM A Ex, FS I Ex (Border Collie)
Reserve – Carole Dodson with Kinaway Dr. Watson HTM A Ex, FS A Ex (Border Collie)
Heelwork to Music
Jenny Deakin with Shepwood Morning Sunrise FS N Ex, HTM I Ex (Border Collie)
Carole Dodson with Kinaway Dr. Watson HTM A Ex, FS A Ex (Border Collie)
Gina Pink with Daraydala Piccolo HTM I Ex (German Spitz – Mittel)
Reserve - Kath Hardman with Stillmoor Lady in Red HTM A Ex, FSI Ex (Border Collie)
Gina Pink will also act as Team GB Manager for 2010.
The lead judge for all three days of the World Championship will be Karen Sykes from England, winner of the Heelwork to Music Final at Crufts in 2008, and the additional judges for the first two qualifying days will be Marleen van Hees from Belgium and Carina Enevoldsen from Denmark. Judges for the finals will be announced later.
The Championship is for teams of up to three competitors from each country and will be held under Danish Kennel Club rules, which are very similar to Kennel Club rules except that, as in all FCI events, only registered pedigree dogs are eligible. Both Team and Individual Championship titles will be awarded in Freestyle and in Heelwork to Music.
