The Kennel Club Celebrates The 50th Anniversary Of The CLA Game Fair
As the CLA Game Fair celebrates its 50th year, the Kennel Club will be at the show celebrating the important role that dogs have played at the event over the years, and continue to play in rural life, all showcased within the world’s biggest countryside show.
The public are invited to come along to the CLA Game Fair from the 25th – 27th July at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. The Kennel Club is particularly involved in the event this year, and is even running and organising its very own family dog ring. There will be daily displays from experts in dog training and behaviour that will delight visitors of all ages and show how every member of the family can learn dog training and handling. Visitors will be able to enjoy watching families demonstrate their great training and handling skills during a Young Handlers’ Gundog display. A Retriever & Spaniel Gundog handling demonstration will be given by an experienced Kennel Club Panel Field Trial Judge.
The ring will also be graced with a visit from the popular winner of Crufts 2008, Giant Schnauzer Ch Jafrak Philippe Olivier owned by Kevin and Sandy Cullen.
The Kennel Club’s objective is to be the first port of call for all canine matters, and will have a stand at the Game Fair which will act as a Dog Information Point for all that is going on at the event regarding dogs. Visitors to the stand will be able to find out all about Kennel Club services, such as puppy packs and information guides on a wide variety of issues surrounding dogs, as well as details of events such as the Wag and Bone Show.
Throughout the three days, experts will be on hand to answer any queries that dog owners may have on behavioural, health or nutritional problems, and information on specialist canine diets will be given by a qualified veterinary nutritionalist. Visitors are even able to book a specific appointment if required. A leading animal behaviourist will be giving advice on how help can be given to animals by a qualified instructor and member of the Canine Behaviour Association.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club spokesperson commented on the Game Fair, “With over 1,000 exhibitors and over 200 acres of displays and events, we know the event will be a great success and are really pleased to be involved in such an exciting show.”
