Key Information

The Kennel Club was founded in 1873 and is the governing body of dogs in the United Kingdom. Its main objectives are to promote in every way, the general improvement of dogs and encourage responsible dog ownership.

Although the prime objectives of the Kennel Club are related to the interests of pedigree dogs, it is also concerned by ‘anti-dog' legislation and actively represents the interests of responsible dog owners whether the dog is Kennel Club registered or not.
