Field Training Days for Pointing Breeds

The primary aim of the Field Training Days for Pointing Breeds is to help those who wish to advance their gundog training to a competitive level. Training will concentrate entirely on hunting and pointing for Pointers and Setters and HPR breeds.

Although the days are aimed at advancing those with experience in gundog training, all levels are welcome including beginners and training will be tailored accordingly. There are also three free training places available each year for young handlers up to the age of 18. Those under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Alongside the training, participants are also given the opportunity to attempt the Show Gundog Working Certificate (Pointers and Setters only) and/or the Working Gundog Certificate. Please note that there will be an extra cost to take part in these certificates.

Feedback from previous training days

"My young dog and I had a superb time, and we have both learnt so much.  With such well stocked grouse moors, every dog in our group had ample opportunity to gain valuable experience, and without exception, we all improved in some way over the weekend."

"We both saw great improvements in our dogs (as well as the handling) and welcome the chance to return in two weeks should places become available."
