The Kennel Club field trial championships

There are five field trial championships each year: the Cocker Spaniel Championship, the Any Variety Spaniel (excluding Spaniel [Cocker]) Championship, the Hunt, Point and Retrieve Championship, the IGL Retriever Championship and the Pointer and Setter Champion Stake. Thank you to Skinner's Field & Trial who sponsor the Cocker Spaniel, the AV Spaniel (ex Cocker), the HPR championships and the IGL Retriever Championships.

Information on this season’s events and results for previous championships is below. Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic all championships for the 20/21 season were cancelled.

Cocker Spaniel Championship

Venue: Emblehope and Burngrange Estate, Northumberland

Pointer and Setter Champion Stake held at Byrecleugh Estate by kind permission of the Duke of Roxburghe on 10-11 August 2022. Won by Mr S Robinson's Irish Setter FTCh Shanrycon Diamante (organised by the Scottish Field Trial Association on behalf of The Kennel Club).

IGL Retriever Championship

2023 Championship

The Retriever Championship was held at the Queensberry Estate, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland by kind permission of His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry KBE, DL on 27-29 November 2023. Won by HM King Charles III’s FTCh Buccleuch Bowhill of Sandringham handled by David Lisett (organised by the International Gundog League on behalf of The Kennel Club).

2024 Championship

The 2024 IGL Retriever Championship will be held at the Coombe Estate, Gittisham, Devon by kind permission of Mr Richard Marker on 25 - 27th November 2024.
